Grease traps must be installed in all industrial and commercial food preparation facilities. We specialize in keeping grease traps clean, so they comply with public health and safety regulations.
What is Grease Trap?
Grease traps keep oil and grease out of the sewage system. As wastewater goes through the grease trap, the oil comes to the surface of the water and gets trapped in plastic separators called bafflers. Then the grease-freewater goes to the sewer lines.
Why Do You Need a Grease Trap?
At room temperature, bacon oil and other oils from animal fat will solidify. Once they harden, these oils can block sewer pipes.
Grease blocks sewer pipes and causes sewer floods. You might end up paying a hefty fine if you can’t get these floods under control.
By separating oil at the source, also reduces the burden and improves the efficiency of municipal sewage treatment plants
All restaurants are required by law to have grease traps to prevent oil contamination of sewage systems and blockages of sewage lines
Grease and oil accumulate on the grease trap. It starts at the top. By cleaning the grease trap thoroughly on a regular basis, we prevent such blockages and stoppages from happening in the grease trap. We remove and clean the oil trap, then we reinstall it. If you’re not clogging up sewer pipes with grease or causing a public health threat, everything’s fine.
How often should the grease trap be cleaned?
Grease traps need to be cleaned every 1-3 months, depending on usage. Check out the “1/4th rule.” In simple terms, the grease trap needs to be cleaned when it reaches a quarter of its capacity.
Grease Trap Cleaning and Pumping Tips

- Limit the amount of FOGS getting into your trap by scraping plates and utensils before washing
- Reduce grease trap material by dry-wiping pots and pans before dishwashing
